Volunteer
Join Our Mission
Sweet Wheel Farms, operated by the Santa Barbara Agriculture and Farm Education Foundation (SBAFE), is dedicated to providing fresh, pesticide-free food to underserved and food-insecure populations in Santa Barbara County. By volunteering, you can help us grow, harvest, and distribute nutritious food while supporting sustainable farming practices and education.

Why Volunteer?
- Make an Impact: Help deliver fresh produce to families in need, including medically fragile individuals and single-parent households.
- Learn and Educate: Gain hands-on experience in organic farming techniques and contribute to educating the next generation about sustainable agriculture.
- Support Food Security: Be part of a community-driven effort to combat food deserts and reconnect people with the origins of their food.

Volunteer Opportunities
We welcome volunteers of all skill levels to participate in various activities, including:
- Harvesting and Packing: Assist with harvesting fresh produce and preparing it for delivery.
- Farm Maintenance: Help with irrigation, planting, weeding, and general upkeep of our chemical-free farm.
- Food Distribution: Join our team every Monday to deliver fresh fruits and vegetables to over 240 individuals across the county.
- Special Projects: Contribute your unique skills to support infrastructure development, seed banking, or educational programs.
